Salmon Fishing at Hellefoss: Because of our straight policy to comply with rules and regulations related to pollution and release of waste the Hellefoss section has again become one of the best Salmon Rivers in Norway where the fishermen take out over 10,000 kilos salmon and sea trout each year. Hellefoss Book Paper AS has 100% usage of 'green' hydro-electric power, the majority of which comes from 2 on-site waterfalls.
Our products are produced from Spruce timber, growing within a radius of 55km from the factory and timber transport, which follows the EU6 standards for trucks is giving us a very low CO2 footprint.
All internal handling of goods is undertaken by non-fossil fuel transportation (paper reels,timber, raw materials etc).
All our European customers receive their finish products by trucks, which come to Norway delivering other goods. Therefore, we utilise existing capacity and avoid trucks returning to Europe empty.
In March 2021 Hellefoss Book Paper AS was Cradle to Cradle Certified which is is a globally recognized measure of safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy.
The certificate is issued by Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
